      About Us

      Who We Are

      Humble Acres Organics is a family owned composting operation, located in Blackville, South Carolina, in Barnwell County. The original farm was purchased in 1923 and has been farmed for five generations. Today, 4th generation owner, Tim McCormick, 5th generation owner, Kevin McCormick, along with several other family members, are the main proprietors of the composting operation. Organic compost, and organic potting soil are the major commodities produced on the farm today.

      Sustainable environmental practices are used in all phases of our operations. We believe in feeding the soil with environmentally friendly organic products and using practices that encourage the development of a strong microbial community.

      Humble Acres Organic Compost has been manufactured on the farm since 2006 and has been used by many South Carolina farms to grow conventional and organic sod, conventional and organic produce, conventional and organic flowers, and conventional and organic pastures.
